A beach in the middle of the city?
First we checked out a couple of beaches in Gold Coast, then we took the bus back to the airport to pick up a rental car for 4 days. After we got the car ($80.03 for the rental), we stopped by another beach…which had yet another tribute to Captain Cook – the Captain Cook Memorial and Lighthouse! We seriously ran into Cook memorials around the globe – this guy made his mark!
After hiking around a bit, we picked up some groceries, then continued on to Surfers Paradise Beach, and eventually made our wall up to Brisbane and explored for a bit. Our first stop was Streets Beach – a man-made beach right in the middle of the city! So cool! After maxing out our prepaid parking time, we drove over to Roma Street Parkland and enjoyed exploring that park and seeing some lizards.
