Exploring Bohol for $60

Today, we made sure to book our Grab ride from the safety of our room, instead of walking out to the street (because of what had happened the previous day). Once our ride arrived, we got dropped off at the ferry port, took our ferry across to Bohol, hopped in a van to the Chocolate Hills, met a new friend, shared a motorbike ride on to a few more sites (for just $4/person).

During our motorbike ride, we stopped to walk around the Bohol Tarsier Conservation Area (to see the rare and fragile tarsiers – who if you startle could die), stopped briefly at the Bilar Man-Made Forest, stopped to walk across a bamboo bridge.

After our motorbike ride, we explored the town of Loboc for a few minutes, then hopped on a bus/truck back to Tagbilaran City, where we saw a statue commemorating the blood compact Spanish explorers made with the locals back when they discovered the island.

Annaliza gave us a helpful tip on how to sound more local by adding “po” to nearly anything you say – e.g. “hello po”, “thank you po”, etc.
