Flight to the Ferry

Getting to…and from Morocco on the ferry wasn’t quite what we expected…

In these videos:

  • We get dropped at the ferry port (cool, right?)…but they don’t allow you to store your bags there. And we really don’t want to take our bags with us around Tangier all day.
  • So we decide to make a mad dash to our hotel to drop our bags and hopefully make it back to our ferry before they leave (in about 30 minutes).
  • When we arrive in Morocco, the bus from the port to the city was taking forever to show up, so we eventually negotiated a decent price with a taxi…don’t do it!
  • Our taxi driver picked up a dude that was “with the local tourism board” and became our “free” tour guide for a bit (DON’T DO IT!)
  • Then we got passed to another “free guide” (who we tried to politely get rid of…and eventually just had to walk away from).
  • Sipped a delicious mint tea on a rooftop with a great view of the city (it was great)
  • Duck into Restaurant Rif Kebdani for an excellent meal (and also to escape a guy trying to sell us a rock). The food here was excellent and reasonably priced, portions were generous, and the waiter was AWESOME, and they one of Trip Advisor’s top restaurants in the city!
  • And of course, we race the clock AGAIN to get back to the ferry out of Morocco back to Spain…in a fun, jam-packed taxi (seriously…we had 7 people in a 5 person car haha).

We paid $138.16 for two round-trip ferry tickets (one for each of us). BUT make sure to take the ferry straight to Tangier, instead of going to Tangier Med like we did!
