To get from Agra down to Jaipur, we hired a driver who was absolutely fantastic. He even had to fix a flat tire along the way.
Once we arrived at our hotel in Jaipur (Nahargarh Palace Hotel), Peter was horrified by how our bathroom was cleaned and ended up using a bar of soap to sanitize it himself.
That evening, we enjoyed some delicious food and hung out with other guests and the hotel staff and owner on the rooftop of the hotel to celebrate bringing in the new year. It was so fun seeing all the celebrations on surrounding rooftops – people dancing, shooting fireworks, and just having a good time.
Despite the initial shock about cleanliness, we LOVED this hotel – the people and food were fantastic and we really started to fall in love with India here. Our stay cost $60.90 for 3 nights, and we paid $32.05 for 6 meals (for both of us – we averaged $2.50 per person for food and a drink).
