Taxis, let’s play nice.
Today, we flew from Yogyakarta to Bali for $66.20 on AirAsia. When we arrived, the airport was beautiful, but when we tried to get a Grab or Uber to pick us up from the airport they said it was illegal. So we checked on what the taxi drivers wanted, and it was 3-5 times what the going rate was on Grab and Uber. So we hiked on out of there until a taxi driver that really wanted to drive us finally agreed to match the going rate.
Eventually, we made it to our hotel – Hotel La Costa Central ($18.04 – looks like they’re no longer in business), got some food, and worked.
