Instead of visiting the famous Phuket, Thailand for our beach time in Thailand, we went with the smaller, less crowded, more local vibes destination – Krabi. We flew in via an AirAsia flight from Chiang Mai with a short layover in Bangkok ($128.47 for 2 tickets).
Once we arrived, we hopped on a taxi truck (called a songthaew) down to our hotel near the beach – J Hotel. We started with one night, to make sure the wifi was good, then ended up booking 2 more nights for a total of $72.27 for 3 nights.
Then we walked down to Ao Nang Beach, and decided to hike the Monkey Trail over to another little beach – Pai Plong Beach. It was a fun little adventure.
