Walking around Hanoi

After having ventured off for a couple of day trips from Hanoi, today we finally explored the city of Hanoi…and got a bit wet. We started walking down some narrow streets with railroad tracks, then walked to the Hanoi Flagtower, then the Ba Dinh Square – where Vietnam declared their independence from France, on to the Presidential Palace, back to the Imperial Citadel, then took a break from the rain and grabbed some coffee…which surprised us with some jelly/jello inside. Lisa was not a fan lol.

After that, somehow we wound up down at this yellow church. Then we went over to the street with lots of ceramic murals (and an old water tower), then weaved our way between street vendors and traffic along a narrow street back to Holidays with Hanna to book a trip to Sa Pa to see the rice terraces.

Once booked, we walked over to the Hanoi Opera House, the Hanoi stock exchange, and a large lake with a small “Turtle Tower” in the middle of it.
