A Beautiful View of Sa Pa Valley
To get from Hanoi to the rice terraces of Sa Pa, we rode a 5.5 hour sleeper bus. It was nice and a great chance to get some reading in. While on the bus, we happened to meet two sisters who were traveling from South Carolina and later met up for dinner and swapping travel stories (a welcome time for Lisa to chat with someone in English).
After declining some trek guide offers, we made our way to our hotel on the outskirts of town, overlooking the rice terraces below. They surprised us with an upgraded room that opened up to a terrace that had a fantastic view of the valley below! This was a great spot – at Sapa Stunning View Hotel ($15.35). Before meeting up with our friends for dinner, we hiked around the surrounding area for a bit to get some pictures of the valley.
