Lost Episode #8 -Ancient Ruins, Greek Food, & Sand Coffee

We started the day with a 5 hour bus ride from Thessaloniki to Athens for $83.19, grabbed some food from a grocery store, and ended up crashing for the day at Socrates Hotel ($21.79).

The next morning, we woke up and ate some DELICIOUS greek yogurt with honey – yo, it was soooo good! I want to go back just for that! Seriously, I loved eating this for breakfast nearly every morning we were in Greece – this was one of my favorite breakfasts anywhere! (Peter)

Then we went exploring, touring the Acropolis Museum together, then Peter went on to hike up to the Parthenon (while Lisa stayed behind and watched a Netflix movie at the museum to take a break). Once reunited, we enjoyed walking around the city, soaking up the sun and marveling at the beautiful flowers and oranges that made it seem more like spring than November.

Eventually, we stumbled across a flea market where we wandered around for a bit, and eventually made it all the way over to the Panathenaic Stadium – the first Olympic stadium! Finally, we met up with our new friends and sat down to a nice family-style dinner together. The food was fantastic and so fresh!

The next day, we went out and tried some sand coffee (also known as Greek or Turkish coffee) and baklava.
