Today, we carried all our bags with us, since our plan was to see some sites, then end up at the airport to fly out to India in the wee hours of the morning (2-3am). We checked out the Dubai Mall, met up with our friend Rachel (from Brussels), visited the spice and gold markets (or souks), and got to see the Burj Khalifa – the world’s tallest building, at 828 m (2,717 ft) tall.
Rachel’s brother-in-law also showed us around some local highlights, including some delicious Persian food at Al Ustad Special Kebab, walking around Al Fahidi Historical Neighborhood, and by the Dubai Museum.
After enjoying the water fountain light show in front of the Burj Khalifa in the evening, we went to the airport and hung out until our flight left for India.
