Tracking down filming sites…
We spent another night at the same freedom camping site we stayed at the night prior, then we set off to find 9 different filming sites for the Lord of the Rings movies (using this map), including where the Battle of the Wargs was fought, where the where the fellowship battled Sauron’s Urukai, Ithilien Camp (where Frodo and Sam saw Oliphants), the spot where Sam and Smeagol discuss rabbits and potatoes, Caradhas – where the fellowship tried to cross the Misty Mountains but had to turn back, the edge of Lothlorien – where the fellowship entered, and Isengard (seen from here).
After we picked up a tasty burger from the popular Fergburger (it was good and worth the wait), we drove to Gladden Fields where the ring betrayed Isildur, the Ford of Bruinen – where Arwin carried Frodo across the river to escape the Nazgul (so maybe here or maybe where we stopped the previous day), then wrapped up the day at another beautiful freedom camping site.
