The Opera House is Beige?
For our quick tour of Sydney, Australia, we stopped by Sydney Town Hall, St Andrew’s Cathedral, the Anzac (war) Memorial, found another Captain Cook statue, saw Saint Mary’s Cathedral, briefly admired art in another free art museum – the Art Gallery of New South Wales, walked through the Royal Botanic Garden, culminating with a view of the iconic Sydney Opera House.
Fun fact: the Opera House’s roof is NOT all bright white…on purpose, so it’s not blindingly bright on sunny days. But what that means is that on cloudy days, it looks a bit brownish and dirty.Â
We walked around the harbor a bit, wandered over to The Rocks Market – where we tried some kangaroo, then took a ferry to Manly Beach (and to see the Opera House from the water), watched some surfers for a bit, grabbed a snack from Aldi, then took the ferry back to the Opera House and enjoyed a light show on the roof of the Opera House at night.
